Welcome to the Noredco website
This website is designed to provide newly qualified and experienced teachers with up to date information about teaching opportunities in English and Scottish schools.
- In Ireland, Newly Qualified Teachers have difficulty finding permanent teaching posts. The situation is particularly acute in Northern Ireland where fewer than one in three Newly Qualified Teachers are able to secure a permanent teaching position in their first year after graduation.
- In England and Scotland, the situation couldn't be more different. Many schools and Local Education Authorities have difficulty recruiting suitably qualified staff. A growing number of Headteachers and LEA Recruitment Strategy Managers are aware that there is a large pool of highly qualified Irish teachers seeking employment and they are keen to recruit them for their schools.
Many LEAs and schools offer attractive incentive packages to suitably qualified teachers.
- Careers advisers at Irish Colleges and Universities have reported an increased willingness on the part of NQTs to move to England or Scotland to complete their induction year and secure permanent employment.
- This website is designed to enable you to visit schools, councils and LEAs which are currently seeking to recruit teachers. When you identify a suitable position simply contact the LEA or school for further information. Most LEAs allow you to download an application form.
- You may also submit your details to us via the Noredco teachers database, and we will do our best to match your requirements & qualifications with suitable job vacancies as and when they arise.
We wish you every success in your search for a suitable teaching position.
